Chef Wajiyha Muhammad is the CEO of Flavorush LLC, a catering business that she founded in 2018. With a passion for food, Chef Wajiyha uses her culinary expertise to create dishes that comfort and reward her customers, making her motto "Food for the Soul" and "Where your taste buds come to Party.”
Her company provides a full range of catering services, from preparation and creation to delivery, and presentation. One of Chef Wajiyha's main goals is to bring light back to her community; having been born and raised in the Strawberry Mansion area of Philadelphia. She has faced unexpected obstacles in life, which gave her the tough skin she needs to succeed in the food industry.
Chef Wajiyha began studying culinary arts at Philadelphia O.I.C. to gain a closer spiritual bond with her deceased grandmother, Sarah Barnes, who played an essential role in her life. She wanted to use the inspiration of bonding with her grandmother to bring back life into her mother, who was still suffering and broken after the lost of her mom.
She has worked for some of the top industry leaders, learning and developing her craft under some of the best chefs, before branching out and starting her own catering business. She is now a mother of two children and has successfully turned her passion for food into a long-term career.
Flavorush offers Pop Up services, Drop off services, catering for meetings and events, office and lunch deliveries. She uses her platform to teach others life-changing skills that have impacted her life tremendously. Her team of hard workers knows the food industry inside and out, and Chef Wajiyha is a fully licensed business owner.
The pandemic hit the business hard, but Chef Wajiyha and her team were determined to keep growing. They have now obtained a space that will give them access to resources, new customers, and a great sense of pride.
